MMA has become a popular sport across the world and its popularity is only likely to increase as each day it draws new competitors and fans from. Many of the new competitors are active in sporting competition and looking for a new challenge and an arena to test their skills. MMA greatly studies wrestling because of its takedown offense and defense, which can determine whether a fight will remain standing or taken to the ground. Wrestling is also responsible and receives credit in MMA for conferring an emphasis on conditioning for stamina and explosive movement, both of which are critical in MMA competition.

Because there are many branches of MMA fighting, the rules vary depending on which branch of the sport you are referring to. During MMA competitions there are specific rules that must be followed which include:
• Wearing the proper MMA clothing and wearing the proper MMA gear
• Prior to a competition each fighter must have a physical exam

Because MMA is a contact sport it is a sport that fighters must have the proper training in order to be able to participate in competitions. MMA training is extensive and challenging and is a complete training that conditions the fighter’s entire body.
